Description of Practice
Joseph E. Halcarz, Sr., Ph.D. brings a wealth of experience and insight as a neutral to the field of Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR). As a non-lawyer mediator, Joe does not focus on rights, obligations and remedies as is custom in the litigation arena. But rather, he focuses on issues, positions and interests to identify what the parties want and need to make the problem go away.
Over the years Joe has served the legal community as an expert witness in job site injuries and fatalities. He has helped resolve many business disputes as well as mediating divorce settlements with and without children.
Joe received his doctorate degree in Education from Somerset University in the UK where he also earned his MBA. He received his undergraduate degrees from Purdue University in Industrial Education and Supervision. Joe received his 40 hour Mediation training from the University of Texas at Arlington and his 30 hour Family Mediation training from the Dispute Resolution Services of North Texas.
Joe focuses on issues, positions and interests to identify what the parties want and need to make the problem go away. His secondary goal is to preserve the relation to the best degree possible.
Joe is qualified to mediate business disputes including contract and employment issues. He is also qualified to resolve family disputes including divorce settlements, parenting plans and custody issues. Joe also possesses the skills and expertise necessary to create excellently written agreements that memorialize successful resolutions.
